Requiem 09-04-2004 11:43 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

After idly musing over who on earth Nightbringer could be, Pax finally drifts off into a pensive silence, swirling a half-filled glass of an abandoned drink between his dainty fingers.

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

His smile returns, he claps his hands together. "You remember my name! Oh, how wonderful." He lets out a laugh. "You're taken? Ya sure that's allowed?" His smile gets even wider. He was truly happy to see her.

Wolf 09-04-2004 11:58 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Riki gives them both a curious stare before answering Loren. "You mean Megiddo. Basically enough, Gale Onarav got all pissy because his girlfriend died, so he tried to blow the rest of us up. We stopped him."

Nightbringer stares at Pax for a moment. "What's your name?"

((Night is...an experiment. Body of a panther, wings of bat, claws of bear, and intelligence of human.))

Ayn 09-05-2004 12:06 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Loren takes Riki's response as another opportunity to ignore Dismas. "I see.. It is.. unfortunate that it happened, I imagine. It appears that there was.. a large amount of loss." She takes another sip of her drink.

Wolf 09-05-2004 12:08 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"Aye, there was." She clearly recalls the bodies of Jekin, One, Bianca, Fury, and Rikali in her head. She sighs and shakes the images away. "Why does this interest you and your...uh, friend, so much?"

Da_#1_Link 09-05-2004 12:10 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"Why talk about past events? We're here now. Loren, talk to me, what's new?" Dismas had half a mind to tell the other girl, Riki, off so she could leave them be.

Requiem 09-05-2004 12:11 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

((Phew; I never would have figured that out.)) In a moment of less-than-remarkable brilliance, Pax extends a curious finger toward Nightbringer and- with apparent disregard for the safety of his extremities- pokes Nightbringer on the snout-tip. "I'm Pax..."

Wolf 09-05-2004 12:13 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Night stares up at Pax, her silver eyes twinkling. "It'd be wise for you to not do that again. I'm rather hungry." Her telepathic voice sounds amused, ringing in Pax's head. "I'm Nightbringer. What brings you here?"

Requiem 09-05-2004 12:17 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

With a clearly disappointed expression hanging on his face, Pax restrains himself from daring another poke. "Oh, I just wandered in here to poke a Frankenstein-esque experiment in the face while carrying on with an apparently one-sided conversation."

Ayn 09-05-2004 12:17 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"Be patient, Dismas, I'll speak with you in a moment." She frowns at Riki. "Well.. I suppose I ask out of my own personal curiosity.."

Wolf 09-05-2004 12:20 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"Works for me. 'Slong as you ain't looking for Nyx or anybody else that you shouldn't be, I don't care that overly much." She grins a little bit. "Where did you come from, anyway?"

Night purrs, an oddly cat-like sound coming from such a big animal. "I enjoy your sense of humor. And the conversation is only one-sided to you."

Requiem 09-05-2004 12:26 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"Eh... If you say so." However, no amount of assurance via telepathy will help convince him that he is not actually making up dialogue in his mind. But, concerning where he came from... "Ah, that's not important- I'll tell you when I'm feeling less schitzophrenic."

Da_#1_Link 09-05-2004 12:27 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Dismas' eyes turn to slits, his smile disappears. He didn't like being brushed to the side like that. He turns back to the bar and downs a drink. "Whenever you're ready, Loren."

Wolf 09-05-2004 12:31 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"What's his problem?" Riki asks in an undertone to Loren.

"You are odd. You're not human, truly..." Her voice tone changes a little bit, becoming more venomous. "I wouldn't have approached you if you were just a human. We don't get along very well, humans and I. I have a feeling that you don't, either." Her claws systematically dig into the ground and then relax.

Requiem 09-05-2004 12:34 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"Well... Correct." Pax grew merrier as the conversation progressed, and gradually his smile brightened into a warm, amiable expression. "If I got along well enough with humans, I wouldn't need to disguise myself as one, would I?"

Ayn 09-05-2004 12:37 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Loren smiles slightly. "It's not important where I came from, but rather, where I plan on going next. I was interested in visiting the castle a ways down from this place, but it seems that it's inhabited by quite a few people."

Wolf 09-05-2004 12:41 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"The Castle? Well, good luck getting in. Aye, it's inhabited. By Ayn, Gin, Lara, and such. But I doubt you know them. What holds your intrest at the Castle?" She seems guinely interested and curious.

"I suppose not. I am not going to hide what humans created me to be, however...What exactly are you, then? I've never sensed something like you before."

((EDIT: Sorry so for popping the fun, but Wolf must retire to her bed now. Nighty.))

Requiem 09-05-2004 12:47 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"Well... I'm a tad bit anthropomorphic..." And with that, Pax ceremoniously draws back his cream-colored sleeve to reveal a forearm sheathed in golden scales. The coat continues beneath his glove, so it could be assumed that his fingers are scaled in a similar manner. However, this makeshift armor becomes more sporatic towards the elbow, and finally gives way completely to human skin right before the bicep.

((And yargh, there goes my conversation. G'night, Wolf.))

Gale 09-05-2004 01:56 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Silently an older man wrapped in a red coat casually strolls into the bar section of the café. He glances at the other occupants and shrugs as he flicks back his graying hair. He then scratches his short beard, revealing a rather elaborate decorated silver ring as he orders a drink. "Wine, prefferably red."

Da_#1_Link 09-05-2004 02:02 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Dismas looks over at the newcomer. "It's a self serve bar. Here, let me pour you some of what I have." He hands the guy a drink. "So what's your name?"

Ayn 09-05-2004 02:04 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Loren sensed something peculiar when the new man entered, and she stares at him, lost in a sort of awed expression. She stands and walks over to the bar, having a seat next to him and trying to decide what to say.

Requiem 09-05-2004 02:05 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Due to his lack of any company for a good while, Pax is eager to rise from his seat and- though not prompted to- slips behind the bar to pour this traveller his drink. A wineglass- lightly chipped on the rim- is settled before this bearded stranger and soon filled with wine of an enthralling scarlet colour.

Gale 09-05-2004 02:11 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

The man raises an eyebrow at Dismas. "A self serve bar and café? Now if that isn't the most bloody ridiculous thing I've heard. Do they use the honor system to pay too?" He looks up at Pax and smirks. "Well, isn't that kind? I didn't expect this sort of reception." The man raises the glass to Pax and takes a sip before noticing Loren, whom he looks up and down. "Anything I can do for you, lass?"

Da_#1_Link 09-05-2004 02:13 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Dismas frowns at seeing Loren rush over to him. What did that guy have that he didn't? He looks in his cup and mutters to himself. Dumb whore...

Ayn 09-05-2004 02:18 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Loren returns the stranger's gaze with a wide smile. "Yes.. I believe there is something you can do for me, stranger. But first, I ask that you confirm my suspicions and tell me your name."

Gale 09-05-2004 02:24 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

The man overhears Dismas' utterance and gives him a very smug look before answering Loren. "My name is Gin Onarav, or E. Gin as I've been refered to on occassion." The man sips his wine before examining his ring.

Ayn 09-05-2004 02:31 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Loren pauses for a moment and swallows. "I see.." She hesitates again, appearing to be trying to recall something. "...Oh yes! Now I remember where I've heard the name Onarav before. Would you happen to know anything about this phenomenon people have called Megiddo?"

Da_#1_Link 09-05-2004 02:33 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Dismas catches the look and smiles to himself. Maybe he wasn't that bad, but damn did he look old. Dismas turns around to look around the cafe. He spots a girl in the corner. Taking a quick drink he walks over to her.

"Hey there, how are you doing?"

.....

Gale 09-05-2004 02:40 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"Megiddo? Not a bloody damn clue. I've heard enough people yappin' about it, though. What I DO know is that my bastard of a son's sword faded, ergo he's dead. Which means I have to go on a damn field-trip across the country. I had to come from bloody Tastora. I'm getting old, I can't make these God-forsaken trips anymore."

Requiem 09-05-2004 02:44 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

With the drink long since served and Pax's need for interaction momentarily satisfied, the robed anthropomorph drifts back to his seat,

Ayn 09-05-2004 02:48 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Loren bites her lip and nods slowly. "I understand. I imagine there is a good reason you feel the way you do, and I won't pry on the matter." She takes her drink and sips it, looking in the other direction. "I suppose it would be best to find more information on the matter at this castle others speak of."

Wolf 09-05-2004 10:29 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"Wait, your name is Gin? But you ain't the same one as at the castle...no, I guess you wouldn't be. That's Gin Avalon, and your Gin Onarav. And yes, Gale Onarav is dead, after trying to freaking end the entire world." So much for breaking it to him nicely.

Nightbringer studies Pax, curiousty plain in her pricked ears and wide eyes. She slides up next to Pax and watches him pour the drink.

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

SMACK.

Dismas walks back from the corner rubbing the side of his face. "Son of a..." He gets himself a drink and decides to bother Loren again. "Hey, Loren, how about we get out of here and catch up on old times? You still haven't told me anything new."

Wolf 09-05-2004 11:52 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"Why don't you just leave her alone? She said she'd talk to you later, quite a few times already." Riki snaps at Dismas. She had been growing quite annoyed with the man, who was constantly pestering her new-found friend.

Da_#1_Link 09-05-2004 11:56 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Dismas looks up at hearing Riki. He gives her a smirk. "You better be careful who you talk to like that, sweetie. You obviously don't know who I am."

Wolf 09-05-2004 12:01 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"Same for you, "sweetie." You've no idea who I am, either." Riki isn't impressed by his bravo. She's seen it all before anyway.

Gale 09-05-2004 12:02 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Onarav perks up and looks at Riki. "....What did you say about a Gin Avalon at this 'Castle'?"

Wolf 09-05-2004 12:04 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"Gin Avalon. He came into Gale's Castle in Estecia after Megiddo, announcing that he was One's father, and that Ayn was his daughter. Then the ass kicked me out of the castle." She doesn't tell why though, but her slightly red face is obvious enough.

Da_#1_Link 09-05-2004 12:08 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Dismas smiles and laughs at Riki. "Of course, of course. Let me buy you a drink, then maybe we could leave here."

Wolf 09-05-2004 12:09 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"We?" She doesn't turn the drink down, however, and happily sips at the cup of wine.
